I had this discussion with a friend that we should start something - not the first time we have talked about that.

But this time, his idea was that it should be simpler. Maybe just sharing our interest for technology, hobby projects, video games and other topics we are enthusiastic about.

So this blog will be exactly that. Sharing my thoughts and experiences on all the technology and games that excites me and I explore during my time off.

Let me elaborate on that.

Who am I

I have gone by a few callsigns online at this point. But a few years ago, I ended up as Alurel in Eve Online, and ended up taking a liking to it. So that is what I go by now.

At heart, I'm a developer. I love developing new projects and processes, which gets reflected in my hobbies too. These days I am mainly fascinated by:

• Self-hosting. Running my own applications that assist me in every day life, while being less reliant on big tech and subscription services.
• Eve Online. Not strictly as a game, but a playground for developing an organisation and community.
• New hardware and gadgets. I love getting new devices to play around with and explore some of the best around - be it camera gear, phones or just peripherals.

What to expect

To be honest - you shouldn't expect anything. This is a creative outlet for when I feel like sharing some of the latest things I have been working on. There will be no deeper thematic coherence, aside from it all being subjects that interest me.

But that said... I hope you could be interested in following along and pitch in on the subjects that interest you as well. I will work on some of the same subjects on other platforms too - mainly Instagram, YouTube and Twitch.
